Micycle, Ferme Park Road

June 24, 2013

A very quick one, this. One of the many buses I can get from one place to another passes this little bike shop-cum-café on Ferme Park Road, just a ten minute walk from Finsbury Park. Now, Rapha or Look Mum No Hands it isn’t, but this is a very lovely, welcoming little spot which is perfect for any cycle-nuts who have either just conquered or are still facing the rather mean hill which crests at Mountview Road. The coffee is from Monmouth and was excellently made, a rich, thick espresso bursting with zing and pep and ready to give your legs that little extra required for the ascent. And it was only £1. That’s right, a good coffee in London for only £1. If that doesn’t blow your socks off, I really don’t know what to do with you. And with that, I’m done. See? Quicker than a courier doing a red.

Interesting that you like espresso before vigorous action – I find the suddenly pounding heartbeat a bit of a deterrent! Tend to save espresso for revival purposes afterwards …
